One of the best kits in OO Scale

I used platicised embossed brick paper on the walls and the main chimney obtainable from a suppler in Greece. I painted the framework timbers black before applying them over the brick paper. The model looks superb when thatched with plumbers hemp, using (to the best of my ability) the technique advocated by Pendon modellers. The smaller chimney is finished with rough plaster rendering. NOT JUST A PUB!!!!

I have used this model as a character farm house, and thatched it in a prototypical way, aprat from the "stitching" on the ridge. I don't use papers, I used very thin plastic embossed brick sheet , fully painted and weathered before the beams were installed. Looking back...If....WHEN I do another, i will make the chimney in stone. All In all, this kit lends you to all sorts of finishes, you just need to know what you want from the start and plan well. Makes a superb pub

I loved this model which was interesting to make and fitted together well; as do all these kits. I enjoyed the challenge of the thatched roof although it could be made with slates or pantiles. Don’t forget to paint the walls before attaching the timber frame!Tony (%06 %b %2019, %12:%Feb)
